About  Club Amigo Ancon

Hotel Club Amigo Ancon is a great place to stay for anyone wanting an all-inclusive beach holiday on a budget, particularly if they want easy access to the historic town of Trinidad.

Ancon is perfect for beach lovers & you will be spoiled by breathtaking sunsets, idyllic stretches of white sand & warm azure waters that are great for snorkelling. You will also find wonderful views of the Sierra Escambray Mountains. This may be a budget all-inclusive resort but it is clean, comfortable & great value, given such natural beauty on your doorstep.

Following renovation, the modern sections at Ancon hotel are much more bright & cheerful than the austere, communist fascia of the resort’s older parts; the whole place is like Cuba in microcosm. The food is good, though the buffet restaurant can be chaotic at breakfast. There are also Italian, Seafood & Cuban a la carte restaurants, which are much more relaxed & provide a good variety. The refreshing drinks at the pool bar are also highly recommended at any time of day.

In addition to the daytime & evening entertainment programme at Club Amigo Ancon, guests can play tennis or relax around the large pool. On the beach, you can try non-motorised watersports, such as snorkelling & catamarans, or simply walk for miles along the soft white sand, where you will find no shortage of marine life in the shallows.

Club Amigo Ancon is a good all-inclusive hotel which, while not easy on the eye on places, provides good food & drink as well as a warm welcome. You will find outstanding value & everything you need for a relaxing beach holiday, with the markets & nightlife of Trinidad just minutes away.

Museum of Archeology Guamuhaya

The Museum of Archeology Guamuhaya, founded on May 15th 1976, in a beautiful mansion on the west side of the Plaza Mayor traces pre- and post-Columbian history. It exhibits in chronological order through 8 rooms objects belonging to the aborigines living in the South Central Region of the island of Cuba during the precolumbus era, as well as material evidence of the Colonial period of very diverse origin and a bill from the city of Trinidad and Valle de los Ingenios. Some of these objects are considered unique in Cuba.

Palacio Cantero

A block south of Plaza Mayor stands the grand Palacio Cantero, built in 1830. It has a magnificent ladder and great neoclassical paintings performed by local and Italian artists. Painted pillars, scrolls, shells, pediments and drapes embellish the interior, eclipsing the historical artefacts and old furniture that now form the Trinidad's History Museum.
