About  Club Amigo Ancon

Hotel Club Amigo Ancon is a great place to stay for anyone wanting an all-inclusive beach holiday on a budget, particularly if they want easy access to the historic town of Trinidad.

Ancon is perfect for beach lovers & you will be spoiled by breathtaking sunsets, idyllic stretches of white sand & warm azure waters that are great for snorkelling. You will also find wonderful views of the Sierra Escambray Mountains. This may be a budget all-inclusive resort but it is clean, comfortable & great value, given such natural beauty on your doorstep.

Following renovation, the modern sections at Ancon hotel are much more bright & cheerful than the austere, communist fascia of the resort’s older parts; the whole place is like Cuba in microcosm. The food is good, though the buffet restaurant can be chaotic at breakfast. There are also Italian, Seafood & Cuban a la carte restaurants, which are much more relaxed & provide a good variety. The refreshing drinks at the pool bar are also highly recommended at any time of day.

In addition to the daytime & evening entertainment programme at Club Amigo Ancon, guests can play tennis or relax around the large pool. On the beach, you can try non-motorised watersports, such as snorkelling & catamarans, or simply walk for miles along the soft white sand, where you will find no shortage of marine life in the shallows.

Club Amigo Ancon is a good all-inclusive hotel which, while not easy on the eye on places, provides good food & drink as well as a warm welcome. You will find outstanding value & everything you need for a relaxing beach holiday, with the markets & nightlife of Trinidad just minutes away.

Calle Simón Bolívar, Trinidad

Palacio Cantero

A block south of Plaza Mayor stands the grand Palacio Cantero, built in 1830. It has a magnificent ladder and great neoclassical paintings performed by local and Italian artists. Painted pillars, scrolls, shells, pediments and drapes embellish the interior, eclipsing the historical artefacts and old furniture that now form the Trinidad's History Museum.

Playa Ancón, Trinidad

Playa Ancón

It is often said that Playa Ancon De Trinidad is the best beach in the south of the island. This postcard-perfect beach has fine white sands and crystal clear turquoise waters. Anyone staying in one of the many private houses in Trinidad should not miss this beautiful Caribbean coastline, all at just 12 km from Trinidad.

Calle Real del Jigüe No.90, Trinidad

Canchánchara

Canchánchara is one of the oldest buildings in Trinidad, and combined architectural styles from the 18th and 20th centuries. There's frequently a live band playing in the shady patio, and there are always plenty of soft drinks, cold beer, and such Cuban cocktails as the mojito and the local specialty canchánchara (rum, lime juice, and honey) that will give you the energy to dance and enjoy the Cuban rhythms found in the place.

Calle Fernando Hernández (Cristo), Trinidad

La Santísima Trinidad

Although the city's cathedral was consecrated in 1892, the building took the better part of the 19th century to complete (it was built to replace the 17th-century church that was destroyed by a hurricane). The structure shows a neoclassic architectural style. Its interesting interior is replete with a dozen hardwood altars that date from the early 20th century and various colonial icons. Besides it preserves the famous Christ of Vera Cruz, and an altar – the only one of this kind in Cuba devoted to the Virgin of Mercy.
